The First Step For My Bridal Makeup

Nov 21 2008 Published by Mark under Makeup Services

First of all, let me say “Congratulations!” on your engagement.

I am sure by now you must have a million things on your mind and feeling a little anxious dealing with all these details.  I am pleased to tell you that the first step to your bridal makeup is already done.  I am here to take care of all the details of your bridal makeup.

You already have a vision of your wedding day look.  Before we can get into that, what I need from you is to inform me of a few important details so that I can get a better idea of your wedding day.

When is the wedding?

It is important to know the date of your wedding so I can clear my schedule to make myself available to apply your makeup.  Even if you are not sure of the date itself, you should still contact me in advance so we can prepare your look.

What time of the day is your wedding?

There is a big difference between a morning or afternoon wedding and an evening wedding as an evening wedding may be a bit more dramatic.  This will help me ensure you have the right makeup to shine on your wedding day.

Where is the wedding?

Whether the wedding in within York, Adams, Lancaster county or outside of this area, this will help me make any travel arrangements.

Will you need me to stay until the ceremony is completed?

Each bride has their own preference.  You may only need me for makeup application or stay till after the wedding to do some light touchups before your reception.  Some brides prefer that I stay till the cutting of the cake at the reception.

Will you be changing your dress at the reception?

This is important to know since you will want to look your best in your wedding dress but if you are going to change your dress, I will make sure you look your best for the reception as well.

How many people in your Bridal Party will require makeup services for as well?

It is important to me to make sure you look your best.  While I do offer additional makeup services for mothers of the bride and groom, bridesmaids, and flower girls, if the time frame is narrow, I will arrange for assistance in making sure everyone in the Bridal Party receive professional makeup.

How large is the ceremony and reception?

This will help me better understand the size of your wedding.

If you know the answers to these questions, please feel free to contact me to arrange a time to meet.  You are also invited to review my Bridal Makeup FAQs page for additional information for some of the most common bridal questions I have received.

In the meantime, please join me as we move on to the next step of your wedding day makeup, My Bridal Makeup Meeting.

Bridal Makeup FAQs

Oct 09 2008 Published by Mark under Makeup Services

Here are some of the most common questions I have received about your bridal makeup.  I listed them here to help you understand better what is involved in making you look beautiful on your wedding day.

Where will you be doing my makeup?

I come to you.  It is a special day for you so you should not have to worry about where to go for your wedding day makeup.  During your bridal makeup design, we will finalize the details about where I will meet you to put on your makeup.  Whether it is at your home or at a hotel, I come to you.

How far will you travel and what are your travel expenses?

I will travel to your location anywhere in York, Lancaster, and Adams county, PA.  My chargeable travel expenses will include a minimum of $25, lodging, and airfare.  Please contact me if you live within these counties but your wedding day will be elsewhere.

How many in my bridal party can you accommodate?

It is important to me that you look your best for your wedding day.  In order to achieve that, the priority of makeup will be as follows, you the bride, mothers of the bride and groom, groom, bridesmaids, and flower girl.  If your party is larger than I can accommodate, I will help you arrange for additional help with the extra members of the party that requires makeup services.

Will you be available for touch-ups on my wedding day?

For an additional charge, I will be available for touch-ups for as long as you need me, whether it is till portraits are taken or the cutting of the wedding cake.  You will also be receiving a bridal makeup kit from me to touchup with if you do not require my services beyond your wedding day makeup.

What can I expect from you during My Bridal Makeup Design?

You will receive a full makeup session so you can see what you will like during your wedding day.  These sessions may take up to 2.5 hours.  I recommend booking this session in the morning or before you go out for a special event before your wedding.  This way, you can get a feel for your makeup when you are out and about.  During this session, we will make any necessary adjustments and fine tune any details.  Your feedback will only help me serve you better.

What brand makeup will you be using for My Wedding Day Makeup?

See My Bridal Makeup Artist Makeup Brands for a comprehensive list of brands I use.  Each brand has something special about their products but not all brands are equal.  Whenever possible, I prefer to use the best combination of quality makeup products.

Why should I consider you for my bridal makeup needs?

I am a certified bridal makeup artist from the prestigious Lia Schorr Institute in NYC.  I have been in the beauty and modeling industry for over 10 years and understand what it takes to make sure you look your best in front of people and photographers.  My portfolio will be available upon request.

Should you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hestitate to contact me.  I will be very happy to answer them for you.
