We often do not realize as we age gracefully that our makeup needs changes over time.  The sole purpose of makeup is to enhance your beauty.  For those of you who are over 40, it all begins with a good skin care regimen.  By using the following products regularly,

Here is my tried and true makeup technique for mature beauties.

• Start your makeup design by applying a water-based moisturizing cream over your entire face, lips and neck.
• Use eye cream which is formulated for thinner skin around your eyes.
• Lightly apply a liquid foundation that closely matches your skin tone to your face and neck areas.
• I recommend apply corrector tints at this point before you apply makeup to correct and enhance facial features.
• Apply loose mineral powder that is a shade lighter than your skin tone by pressing and rolling in the powder (do not rub) to help soften your lines.
• Apply soft and matte shades of blush makeup to your cheeks, around your eyes, high around the temples and lightly under the chin (on your neck).
• Use a light, neutral eye shadow to gracefully enhance the upper regions of your eyes.
• With a volumizing mascara, apply two coats to the upper lashes only.
• Use a lip liner pencil that closely matches your lipstick to define your lips to prevent lipstick from bleeding.
• Choose a rich color lipstick that goes with your skin tone to liven up your face without overpowering it.
• Lighten your eyebrow one or two shades lighter with a soft brown, taupe, or gray pencil.
